Upon arriving in Finland by boat, and before heading to hubby’s family’s summer cottage, we spent a day in Naantali, one of the richer and most important tourist towns in Finland. Naantali means Village of Grace.
Naantali lies in southwestern Finland and has almost 19 000 residents.
Naantali is known for two popular tourist attractions – Moomin Valley and the largest spa in Scandinavia. We have been to both places, but this year, we went to see Moomin world again.
We arrived at around 7 am in Turku then drove to Naantali. We reached our destination by 8 am. While Marcus and Tuwa went out to buy breakfast and play, my cousin, aunt and I took the time to sleep a little more in the car since Moomin Valley opens at 10 am.
We were in Moomin Valley from opening time until around 2 pm. We ate lunch in Naantali.
In the first restaurant, the service was so slow that we gave up waiting and moved to the neighboring restaurant – which had surprisingly wonderful burger!
Right before eating my burger, we heard a loud slam, like a metal hitting the ground. We looked down and on the ground was bird poop. And ten centimeters from my plate, on the table, was also a big blob of white and gray bird scat. Bläää. I covered it with several layers of paper napkins. I wouldn’t dare remove the poop. So I just let it on the table, under the layers of napkins, and pretended it didn’t exist.
