To go to the Old Town of Stockholm, we had to see a part of the world’s longest art gallery – Stockholm’s metro or the tunnelbana.
We saw the bright red and rural green paintings on rock formations of Solna Centrum and sculptures of the greek-inspired Kungsträdgården.
More than 90 of the network’s 100 stations are decorated with mosaics, paintings, installations, among others, by over 150 different artists – one of which I had the pleasure of visiting at her gallery/home and interviewing for a reportage, Astrid Sylwan.
The first line opened in 1950.
