imageThis is how a 50’s home can look like.

The rooms are maintained to look as they used to in the 1950’s. In this house lived the assistant of the big-wig Swedish sculptor Carl Milles.

When it comes to 50’s design, I always think of American diners with black and white checkered floors and hysterically red furniture – which I find charming. The 50’s style I saw in Millesgården – with its floral sofa and puff chair and repetitive patterns – has a calmer tone, but just as charming.

The house is part of a large property, Millesgården, owned by the Milles’ family. Millesgården was the home and studio of the sculptor and his painter wife. It is also their burial ground.
